The number of Permanent Residency Permits delivered by Mauritian authorities in 2013 accounts for a total of 2039 out which 1648 concerned Professionals, 210 for Investors and 49 to Self-employed.
Who may apply for a Permanent Residency Permit in Mauritius ?
An investor holding a valid Occupation Permit may apply for a Permanent Residency Permit after a period of 3 years. To do so, he should meet the following conditions :
• An Investor holding an Occupation Permit for 3 years immediately preceding the date of application for Permanent Residence Permit, whose company generates a turnover at least 15 million rupees over three consecutive years;
• Self-employed holding an Occupation Permit for 3 years immediately preceding the date of application of Permanent Residence Permit, whose annual revenues are over 3 million rupees over three consecutive years;
• Professionals holding an Occupation Permit for 3 years immediately preceding to the application for Permanent Residence Permit, whose basic monthly salary accounts for more than Rs 150,000 over three consecutive years;
• Retirees holding a residence permit for 3 years and who has transferred a minimum of 40,000 USD annually to Mauritius ( for a total of 120 000 USD over three consecutive years)
