Infrastructure works for the development of the project ‘’Royal Park Residential Estate’’ located in Balaclava, the first residential area which will accommodate a private park of 22 acres (representing one third of the area of the Pamplemousses Garden) began in June 2011 and will be completed in August 2012.

"The development of the infrastructure and the park was given to the company Transinvest Mauritius Ltd. At this time, the crews are working on the installation of electric and telephone cables and on the connection to the water network that will all be underground in order to preserve the beauty of this environment, an essential quality in a development of this level, "explains Mr. Bruno Monthieu, Marketing Manager of Royal Park. "A test driveway will be soon available for the visitors!" He adds.
Launched on the Mauritian market only in 2010, this project has a unique concept: indeed, a park, inspired by the Pamplemousses Garden, forms the starting point of this real estate development. The Project Architect M. Paul Mikula, and the team of Mauritian entrepreneurs wanted the residential areas spread around a large park. "Just like a flower ..." M. Mikula says "The Park will extend to the heart of the property, and various residential neighborhoods will be built around, like the petals of a flower."

The design of the park, which we can better understand the contours and extents now that the creation is fully engaged, is the realization of Mr. Colin Okashimo, an internationally known landscape architect. We find Mr. Okashimo projects in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, China, India, Maldives and Seychelles among others. For Royal Park Residential Estate, he inspires, in part, on the Pamplemousses Garden and on our local flora, incorporating a number of endemic plants. Mr. Okashimo is assisted by the Mauritian horticulturist Jean-Francois Guimbeau.

This park will also provide stretches of water; the largest will be 2095sqm plus also a lily pool and two fountains at its edges. 8 hills will also be created. Parallel pedestrian and bicycle paths will be available to residents to promote a spirit of relaxation and well-being and a way of life in communion with nature.

"In addition, a range of sporting activities will be available through access to a clubhouse which will be built in the" residential estate" itself, with tennis courts, swimming pool and gym," adds Mr. Monthieu.

The first lands were sold exclusively to Mauritius as from August 2010. The second phase, which was triggered on February 20, is now also for sell to foreigners and offers apartments, villas and "town-houses" in addition to four types of lands, namely: lands of the hill located on the highest part of the area, lands near the beach, those overlooking the Moka mountains and lands bordering the park. All lots will be delivered with grass and bordered with a stone wall of 60 cm on roadside.

In addition, Park Royal opened recently a new showroom in Sibotie House, Les Pailles (near Leal &Co). Many scale models of the park, the residential area and five different architectural types of future homes are exposed.
