The official launch of the new biometric national identity card is scheduled for today, Tuesday 17th of September 2013 at the Cybertower of Ebène. An initial pilot phase was launched on the 16th of September 2013 requiring the participation of some 1325 people from different ministries as well as from the private sector to test and fine-tune the conversion process. }
