Invest in Mauritius : Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) rises by MRU 700 million at first semester 2013

One additional reason to invest in Mauritius : the Mauritian real estate sector confirms being the most attractive sector for foreign investors. According to figures recently published by the Bank of Mauritius, FDI accounts for an amount of MRU 4,7 billion at first semester 2013, that is a growth of MRU 700 million compared to the same period in 2012.
The real estate sector accounts for some MRU 2,9 billion thanks to IRS projects, representing more than 50% of total FDI. The other sectors where FDI was significant are the construction sector with an amount of MRU 632 million and the Finance and Insurance sector accounting for MRU 483 million.
