The Complexe du Vieux-Moulin comes to modify the commercial environment of the South of the island. The inauguration happened Saturday, in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Arvin Boolell. Davyland properties, responsible of this project, converted the only sugar factory belonging to the Government to a shopping centre, thanks to an Rs 400 million investment. Spread on a surface area of 130 000 square feet may host 400 vehicles on parking areas, the complex wants to attract the public in the south and to promote tourism in the region. Apart from shops and several restaurants, a ballroom has been planned on the second floor for receptions and weddings. The centre is operational since nearly one year, but Davyland properties extended the official opening, waiting for the second phase to be completed. An expansion project is now considered.
