World Economic Forum: Mauritius (39th) more competitive than South Africa (56th)

According to the 2014-2015 Global Competitiveness Report published on 3rd September 2014 by the World Economic Forum, Mauritius confirms its position of the most competitive African country. It is ranked 39th compared to 45th in the 2013-2014 ranking. Mauritius is followed by South Africa (56th). The most competitive economies world are Switzerland, Singapore and United-States respectively.
The rankings are based on score in twelve categories namely macroeconomic environment, infrastructure, financial, labour and goods markets, health and education, technological readiness and business sophistication.
